"Where there is love, there God is also"
Our vision statement summarises what we believe God is calling us to be and do;
The Chalk Stream Benefice, joined by the living water of Christ, seeks to trust God and reflect his love, bearing in mind our neighbours’ needs.
Chalk Stream Benefice
As well as the four parishes being separate parishes in their own right, they are held together by the appointment of a priest to a single Benefice, and share common pastoral care, administration and leadership.
The Vicar, retired clergy and licensed lay minister together form the ministry team, and the Benefice administration is carried out by our Benefice Secretary.
Every 5th Sunday, and sometimes on other occasions, the congregations of all our churches meet for a 'Benefice Service', which helps us to realise that we are part of something bigger than our own local congregations.
The Benefice has a variety of worship traditions (see the Worship page), from Book of Common Prayer to modern language and informal services, and each church follows the same service pattern throughout the month.
Full contact details are published in the "Chalk Stream", our free monthly magazine, which is delivered to all homes in the four parishes.
